High temperature Hot Melt Stick is a heat-activated adhesive stick formulated with PE copolymer. It is mainly designed for repairing minor superficial damage (e.g., scratches) on PE external coatings, it can be used for the damage does not penetrate to the underlying bare metal.
Application is performed using a standard gas torch: first, all sharp edges are removed, the damaged area is cleaned and preheated. Subsequently, the high temperature Hot Melt Stick is heated directly above the damaged area until it is full filled and become glossy. The molten adhesive is then spread evenly over the scratches, forming a secure bond with the substrate. Once cooled and hardened, the adhesive surface is smoothed with a paint scraper to achieve a flush surface with the original PE line coating.
